Under Review: Infinity, Savannah and Antares Frames (Video)

The very kind people at Selectspecs let me review six of their lovely frames that won’t burn a hole in your wallet with price tags all under £70 – including a pair that are just £10 if you’re on a budget. Under review in this video are two frames from Infinity, one from Savannah and three from Antares – all available online at https://www.selectspecs.com/.

Infinity 9923

Infinity frames 9923First up were these Blue and White framed pair from Infinity at £35,which were one of my favourites from the selection.  Although thick-rimmed they were incredibly lightweight and the colour matched both my complexion and my hair colouring (scoring bonus points!)  These frames are a breath of fresh air from the go-to black thick-rimmed frames that have been on trend for the past several years, although still available in that colour too if that’s your thing – or a red frame, with black arms, the choice is yours.

Infinity 9830

Infinity frames 9830Although I love to add a pop of colour through eyewear, I also loved these black round-framed beauties, that are also from the Infinity range priced at £35.  These round frames move away from the traditional square-framed glasses and make way for the vintage and timeless look.  Want a classic Giorgio Armani-esque frame but without forking out?  At this price it won’t cost you the earth to experiment with either black, brown or even green.

Antares 8982

Antares frame 8982There’s nothing quite like channeling your inner feline and projecting old Hollywood glamour – which are exactly what cat eye frames do.  Popular amongst the likes of Victoria Beckham, Olivia Palermo and Dita Von Teese; the brand Antares have released these fantastic frames, for £65, again in 3 different colours to suit you, your style or your hair!  They’d look great with any up-do if you’re looking to be a bit more Audrey Hepburn (every girl does right?), or with any full, side or swept fringes.

Savannah 8121

These frames are at the lowest price out of the list but do not look any less expensive than the others do when on.  They are an incredible £10 and you can pick from 10 different colours.  The ones I reviewed in the video are in ‘Tortoise‘, a fantastic brown colour that can add more texture to your skin when you’re rather fair (like me!), whereas black can make you look paler, in my honest opinion.

Antares 1136

Antares frame 1136Back to the Antares frame and like I say in the video; what I loved most about these is the little peek of colour shining through behind the frames which can really highlight your eyes.  I wear the blue/purple frame that really compliments my blue/green eyes, even if I do say so myself; the burgundy pair would flatter brown eyes. Another great thing about this frame is its thin-rimmed design that doesn’t hide or block your face and eyes if you’re on the small side, whereas a thick or heavy frame can. At £65, they’re still not breaking the bank either.

Antares LE256

Finally, the last pair at £70 of Antares frames are still a bargain for prescription glasses and like I say in the video; looks both sleek and professional.  A thinner rim still, from the previous pair, adding both to their weightless feel and ‘opening up’ of your eyes.  The lens is larger and the frames a little squarer, which suits many face shapes (or if you’re not sure which face shape you are then look here in our previous post.)

Glasses were supplied by SelectSpecs.com for review, but all opinions are 100% my own.  Let me know which ones are your  favourite in the comments section below!

  1. […] These wonderful square cat eye frames are unusual in both shape and pattern. The mix of  the  square and cat eye shape of frame make for a modern twist on the vintage and timeless trend. The on trend zebra print pattern of the arms is fun and unique, it’s attention grabbing and oozes high fashion. The deep blue colour of the frame creates a much needed boost of brightness, the colour fades into different tones of blue throughout creating that winter icy look. Pair these super stylish glasses with a bold blue dress to tie in the colours of the frame, to finish off the cute winter look try wearing sparking sliver accessories to add that icy sparkle.
