Sony Pictures have recently released the first trailer for their new Spider-Man movie – The Amazing Spider-Man and it looks set to be much darker than the previous trilogy of Sam Raimi Spider-Man films staring Tobey Maguire. Check out the awesome new Mirror’s Edge inspired trailer here: –
Soon-to-be Megastar – Andrew Garfield will be taking on the role of our favourite spectacle wearing superhero Peter Parker and his alter-ego Spider-Man this time round in the re-booted movie series. The new Peter Parker looks to be a more fashionable and trendy version of the geeky character, with a skateboard under one arm, an updated hairstyle and much nicer square plastic-rimmed glasses that are all the rage these days.
UPDATE: Thanks to our helpful readers, it looks like the glasses worn in the film are most likely Oliver Peoples – more information at the bottom of this post.
We were big fans of the previous Spider-Man movies, especially the first two and thought that Tobey Maguire was the perfect Peter Parker, so Andrew Garfield has some pretty big shoes to fill, but based on his performance in The Social Network he should be excellent.
You can see here that Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker was indeed quite different, with his overly-combed hair and broken, less-than-fashionable glasses held together by tape. He should have checked out our value range of glasses!
At first I was a little sceptical about the idea of a Spider-Man reboot with an all-new cast, but after seeing the new trailer I’m really coming round to the idea. Emma Stone should be great as Gwen Stacy, but it’s the villians that everyone wants to know about. Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) will also be wearing a rounder pair of plastic-rimmed glasses in the film for his role as Dr. Curt Connors, although there’s no sign of The Lizard in the first trailer just yet.
Sadly we still have a whole year to wait for the movie, which will also be shown in 3D. The Amazing Spider-Man will be released in Summer 2012. Can’t wait.

Can you tell me what is exactly the brand and the model Andrew Garfield is wearing on the first photograph ?
Thank you.
Sadly we can't tell which brand he is actually wearing at this point. They may in fact just be a generic brand from the "Movie Props Cupboard Out Back" – hence we have listed a selection of similar glasses in the post above so you can attempt to get the look yourself as closely as possible.
Any guesses as to the frames Dr. Connors is wearing? I've been searching for months.
Oliver Peoples!
these are also a good substitute: POLO 412
It looks like the POLO 412 is discontinued 🙁
They look to me like the Zeligs from Sol Moscot; however, if you're on a budget check out the Neptunes over at Classicspecs.
+1 on the Oliver Peoples.
The "LARRABEE" specs look very close to andrew garfields.
brand is lunor i'm pretty sure
I also craved for the glasses from the time I saw it in the movies. So far, the best bet I have are these two. My basis was the bridge and the color scheme. The only thing that I'm still skeptic would be the actual sizes of these frames. But IMO these two are the best bet.

2) +2 on Oliver People's "LARABEE"
The model is definitely the "Larrabee", Oliver Peoples in horn color (362). ( http://www.lunettesde.com/les-lunettes-de-andrew-garfield-dans-spider-man-oliver-peoples/ )
Lunor's A5 232 look pretty much like Andrew Garfield's.
