Who would seriously own 20,000 pairs of glasses?

Elton John of course.  According to a recent poll carried out by Specsavers Elton John has been named as Britain’s most iconic glasses wearer admitting to buying over 20,000 pairs of his trademark spectacles, including novelty glasses with windscreen wipers and flashing lights.  Elton John beat competition from John Lennon and Dame Edna Everage to top the poll. In the poll of 2,000 people, 31% revealed that they were influenced by famous people in their choice of frames, with some respondents admitting that they wore glasses to emulate their favorite celebrities even if they did not need them.  Personally, I find it hard to imagine why so many people are being influenced by Dame Edna’s choice of fancy frames, perhaps we really ought to start stocking these as they may just be hot sellers!
